SiPearl is the European fabless designer of secure high-performance energy-efficient CPUs for sovereign HPC, AI and data centres. These CPUs will help address strategic challenges in the field of security, defence, medical research, climate and engineering with a reduced environmental footprint.

SiPearl thus contributes to Europe’s technological sovereignty.

Privately held and supported by the European Union and France, SiPearl employs 200 people in France, Spain and Italy. Following a 130 million Series A, the company has launched its Series B round.

Created by Philippe Notton in June 2019, SiPearl is the company bringing to life the European Processor Initiative (EPI) project. The aim of EPI is to foster the deployment in Europe of high-performance and low-power microprocessor technologies.

Since 2019, SiPearl has navigated the typical challenges of a start-up on its path to taping out its first chip in 2025. This experience gives the company a deep, first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by start-ups and the ability to support them effectively.

As part of its mission to design the European high performance low-power microprocessor for supercomputing and AI, SiPearl has built a fully independent computing infrastructure in France — including a proprietary emulation platform. This platform offers over 8,000 hours of annual emulation capacity and was designed to handle SiPearl’s peak internal demands during chip development. To make the most of this capacity, SiPearl offers access to this advanced emulation resource as a service

In the context of IC DASH, SiPearl will offer emulator services through access to advanced emulation resources. By opening up its infrastructure, SiPearl enables other companies to benefit from high-end, locally hosted emulation.

In WP2, Sipearl will focus on deploying a high-performance, scalable emulation platform tailored to the needs of fabless semiconductor design workflows. The platform will provide secure remote access and ensure optimized use of computational resources to support varying project sizes and workloads efficiently. This will involve setting up the emulation platform and configuring it to accommodate diverse projects demands. Additionally, a dedicated support channel may be provided to assist fabless design teams with issue reporting and technical support, ensuring continuous and effective platform use.
